My name is Hetal Baman. I’m a biomedical engineer, social entrepreneur, and global health advocate.
I grew up in a South Asian household and I am the daughter of parents who immigrated from India in the late 1980’s. The first time I traveled to India was when I was 14 years old. That was the first time I witnessed real poverty and realized how incredibly privileged I am.
Years later in 2016, I decided to go on my first service to the slums of India, alone. I worked in a slum school in the outskirts of Delhi, India. Since then, I fueled my love for service by later traveling back to India and later served in communities of Honduras.
When speaking to friends, family, and colleagues, I noticed a massive gap in awareness of challenges that exist outside of our little bubble in the United States. Many were not aware of issues such as maternal mortality, material poverty, and human trafficking. They were not aware of the organizations that are making massive positive changes in fighting these issues.
I made it my mission to spread the message and inspiring journeys of inspiring guests that lead and advocate for non-profits and organizations that are making the world a greater and healthier place. I use this podcast to share the conversations and connections I have with the most amazing people I have ever met. I hope you enjoy!
