Human trafficking may not as obvious as you might think…

For this episode, I was able to connect with an old college friend of mine, Stacey Kurian. It’s so amazing how many old and new friends you can connect with just by starting a podcast! I’m loving it! Stacey and I both went to RPI (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute) to study engineering. She now has a degree in Civil Engineering and works for a construction firm in Duchess County, NY.

Stacey first learned about human trafficking when someone from the organization Love146 gave a talk about modern day child slavery. This opened her eyes to horrors that happen throughout the world even in the modern times we live in. Today, she is a active advocate to end human trafficking around the world by wearing a dress and empowering others to do the same. YOU can do anything in a dress.

Dressember is a collaborative movement leveraging fashion and creativity to restore dignity to victims and survivors of human trafficking.

During this episode, we talk about…

  • Stacey’s background and her time working abroad for Engineering Ministries International

  • The first time she learned about human trafficking

  • The subtle signs of human traffickers

  • How trafficking can occur when you least expect it and TO who you least expect

  • What Dressember is doing to spread awareness around human trafficking and programs they have in place to rescue the vulnerable

    and much more!
